My name is Wesley Harrison and I am currently living in Florida with my cousin, Leticia, who is like a sister to me, and her mother, my aunt Yolanda. She is the last living sibling of my mother, Stella, who passed away two years ago at a month shy of 95. Aunt Yolanda will be 95 in September. She is living with Alzheimer's and we are all living through this disease together.
I moved to Florida right before Covid, to be close to my mother, who had lost most of her hearing before being diagnosed as legally blind, and it was decided she go with her sister to my cousin's house in Orlando, where Leticia could look after them both. Shortly after the move, my mom had a small accident and was hospitalized, whereby the doctor determined she needed around the clock care and so she was admitted into a Senior home. It was too difficult trying to communicate with her there while I was living in Washington state, so I made the decision to move.
